Benjamin T. Martin: Video
The title Video (Latin for "I see") is a play on the subject of Leonin's wonderfully expansive Organum Duplum on the text fragment "Viderunt Omnes..." (meaning "they all have seen..."), wherein two voices indulge in glorious oblique counterpoint on each individual syllable of the phrase. It is this chant that is the center of this piece's musical orbit.
This piece is about visibility, and all of the trials, frustrations, and joys that come with it.
Video was written for J Holzen, with love.
